A BOOK, A CD, AND A CAKE TIN
When I'm not giving talks or writing ads, I sometimes write silly rhymes and monologues. This one now has a book named after it:
I think the clouds are cotton wool;
My Mummy says that's nonsense,
'Cos clouds, she says, are made by God
And cotton wool by Johnson's.
I Think The Clouds Are Cotton Wool - Rhymes Committed by John Ansell took me 12 years to write, so I'd appreciate it if you could read it slowly. It's now been joined by a CD, John Ansell's Catalogue of Rhymes.
Both have a nice habit of going home with people who see me perform. My record is 125 sales to 600 Wellington Town Hall conference delegates.
Oh, I also write letters to editors. One a few years ago suggested calling Wellington's shiny new stadium The Cake Tin. Not everyone approved!
